This week has been wonderful 🙂
A lot of our craziest things happened on Thursday when we went out to our far area. We went door knocking in the morning and the first door was a young mother who didn’t seem very interested in our message. She told us she was super busy right then. Typically we would only leave a card, but randomly instead we decided to leave a Restoration pamphlet.
Later that day we got to go visit one of our investigators that lives out a good ways. One of the members was taking us out there. As we pulled up we could see out investigator and her husband splitting wood next to a huge pile of wood that is already split and some that has yet to be split. The member marches right over there (She is both pregnant and in flip flops) and asks them if she can help. They turned her down at first but then she asked, “What is it that you eventually want done with this wood?” They explained that they are going to hopefully get it all stacked some day. So she goes and starts stacking the wood. Of course we are right behind her, in our skirts, moving and stacking wood as well. The member has a little toddler so Sister Griffeth helped keep the toddler, along with a dog that they had, entertained, while we stacked wood. It was so much fun! We did that for about an hour and then the husband of our investigator suggested that we all take a break. The member replied, “Great! We can all go in and have a gospel message about Jesus Christ.” This is significant because the husband had never joined us for our discussions before. We all went in and had a wonderful lesson. The husband asked all sorts of fabulous questions and the spirit was there so strong! When we left, they all promised to come to church. And guess what… they came!!! It was so wonderful to see them come and enjoy their time there 🙂 And they promised they’ll come back!!! So wonderful 🙂
After we left their house we got a referral saying that someone wanted a Book of Mormon near by. Turns out it was the same girl we had talked to that morning who hadn’t seemed very interested! So we went to give her the Book of Mormon, and she seems genuinely interested! There were so many miracles happening that day 🙂
As far as other news goes, This past Saturday Sister Griffeth and I had the opportunity to sing at a funeral for an elderly lady of our congregation that had passed away last week. The service was very nice, filled with memories, shared by family and friends who loved her so very much. Towards the evening of that day I started feeling a little under the weather, but not too bad. When I woke up on Sunday I was completely wiped out! That night I had barely slept at all! Sister Griffeth and I were supposed to sing in church, but my throat was so sore that it just wasn’t going to happen. We went to church and Sister Griffeth played a piano solo while I tried very hard to not fall asleep in the pew. After church, all I wanted to do was go home and sleep, but we had an appointment scheduled with a member to go visit a less active so we went to that. The member took us to the appointment, and I slept in the car all the way to the appointment. The visit went really well, but I fidgeted in my seat the entire time trying to keep from falling asleep. I really don’t remember most of what happened there. After the visit I slept all the way back to the members home, then Sister Griffeth and I drove home and I totally crashed went we got back to the house. Then I slept for a good 3 hours, got up, had dinner, and crashed again. I’m happy to say that I am feeling quite a bit better today. Blessings 🙂
I love you and the church is true!
